2008 Fishing Season
The opening for the 2008 fishing season was 10 May for Walleyes and 24 May for Bass.
Non-resident seasonal license- $34.00
Non-resident 7-day license- $24.00
The Canadian fishing season opened on 17 May.
The types of licenses, costs (exchange rates), and limits are very dynamic and area specific. On the border waters in our area the walleye limit is 2 for day use fishing. For specifics, there are numerous websites available under MNR Canada.
2007 Fishing Season.
The Minnesota 2007 fishing season was very sucessful. The primary reason was that the walleye limit and slot size was changed. The limit is 6 walleyes and saugers combined, with a limit of 4 walleyes. The slot size now requires that all walleyes caught between 17-28 inches must be released and one walleye over 28 inches can be kept. The result was that there were more fish available for the skillet and less of the larger spawning stock harvested.
