Q: Is it too late to make vacation plans for 2010?

A: It is not too late to make your 2010 vacation plans. Give us a call and we can discuss reservations and options on availability.  Our rates are all inclusive with no hidden charges (no mooring fees, pet deposits, charges for extra towels, etc.) Return to Top

 

Q: Is there a place to moor my boat at the resort?

A: Yes. Scott’s Peaceful Valley Resort has a full marina service.  For no additional cost, as part of your stay at Scott’s Peaceful Valley Resort, there is dock space for you to moor your boat and parking space for your boat trailer.  The public landing is next to the resort for launching your boat. As part of the full marina service, we offer electrical power on the dock to recharge your marine batteries. Return to Top

 

Q: How easy is to to navigate the Crane Lake waterways?

A: Scott’s Peaceful Valley Resort offers an orientation by boat of the area and a map for staying at the resort. The waterways in the area are safe and well marked with buoys and channel makers. Crane Lake is apart of Voyageurs National Park and rangers are present.
Help, if needed, is available by way of marine radios via local boat traffic.  Return to Top

 

Q: Any special upcoming events in Crane Lake?

A: Crane Lake Voyageur Days is September 4 -6.  Which has many activities, including Pony Rides for children at Scott’s Peaceful Valley Resort

Q: When does the 2010 resort season end?

A: Scott’s Peaceful Valley will be open for until October 9.  There is plenty of time to enjoy the summer and fall activities of Northern MN.  Return to Top

 

Q: I am looking for a unique fishing opportunity, what do you offer?

A: We offer a unique fishing experience on Mukooda Lake.  Mukooda Lake is a pristine, spring fed lake, which the National State Park has limited the boats on the lake. Q: What are the rates for fishing licenses and what are the limits on fish I can catch?

A: It is best to check the Minnesota DNR and the Canadian MNR for this information.  Return to Top

 

Q: What is there for my family to do in the Crane Lake area?

A: Besides fishing, we have access to hiking trials, berry picking, island hopping, swimming, water skiing and other water sports. There is also an ice cream shop down the road and gift shops in the area. Crane Lake is a short drive to Orr, MN where we have a bog walk and Vince Shute Black Bear Sanctuary. For a Sunday drive, Elephant Lake Road offers typical Nothern Minnesota wildlife scenery that you would be able to witness otherwise in the Midwest.  Return to Top

 

Q: Are there any special photo opportunities in the area?

A: Vermillion Falls and Vermillion Gorge offer exceptional photo opportunities. The Gorge is hiking distance from Scott’s Peaceful Valley and the Falls are a short drive away. Within a boat ride from Crane Lake, photo opportunities include pictographs, the “Old Man” in the Namakan Narrows, Hang Man’s Island, and the Cliffs of Grassy Bay.  Return to Top

 

Q: Is there a place to worship close by?

A: Yes, you may visit the Crane Lake Chapel that is non-denominational and a Catholic church that is located in Buyck, Mn. Return to Top

 

Q: Can you offer suggestions for intriguing boat trips?

A: We can help you plan your day. There are a number of exciting day boat trips from Scott’s Peaceful Valley. Kettle Falls Hotel and Restaurant is 30 miles away. It has a rich history and outstanding Minnesota scenery. Lady Rapids offers great fishing for the more adventurous fisherman. There are also two locations of historical pictographs in the surrounding area. If you wish, you may also experience the unique opportunity to take a boat portage in to Loon and Lac La Croix Lakes. Q: Do you allow bird and bear hunters to stay at the resort?

A: Yes, we accommodate both bird and bear hunters.  Check the Minnesota DNR web site for details on game limits, as well as the hunting opening and closing dates. Return to Top
